How a Foxnet deployment works

1. Site survey and requirement capture. 3. Installation and commissioning. Containment and fire-survival cabling go in first, then devices, then the panel. Commissioning is device-by-device: every detector is tested with the appropriate stimulus, every call point operated, every interface output proven against the matrix, and the results recorded on a signed test schedule rather than a verbal confirmation.

4. Handover, training and documentation. You receive as-built zone drawings, the device address schedule, the cause-and-effect matrix, panel operating instructions and the commissioning test records. We train the security team and the facilities engineer on silencing, resetting, isolating a device for hot work, and reading the event log before calling anyone.

5. AMC and ongoing support. The system moves onto a scheduled maintenance programme with periodic functional testing, battery checks and detector servicing, plus reactive attendance for faults. Each visit produces a dated report, so when the fire officer or the insurance surveyor asks for the maintenance history there is a file to hand over.

What is the difference between a conventional and an addressable fire alarm system?

A conventional panel groups detectors onto zone circuits, so an alarm tells you which zone is affected but not which device. An addressable panel gives every detector, call point and module its own address on a loop, so the panel reports the exact device and location, and can report dirt, drift and faults per device. Conventional suits small, simple premises; addressable suits anything where search time or per-device diagnostics matter.

What documentation is needed for a state fire NOC?

Typically the fire authority wants building and services drawings showing detection and escape provisions, equipment datasheets and approval documents, a zone plan, installation and commissioning test certificates, and confirmation that the system is under maintenance. Requirements differ by state, so the exact form set, fee and inspection sequence in Maharashtra will not match Karnataka or Delhi. How often should fire alarm AMC visits happen, and what does a statutory inspection cover?

Can the fire alarm panel release access-controlled doors automatically?

Yes, and on escape routes it should. The panel drives a potential-free contact into the access control system or directly into the lock power supply, so that on a confirmed alarm the doors on the designated escape path unlock.
